Survey

Existing installations: We assess and suggest improvements to existing WiFi installations looking at channel interference, coverage, signal strength, SSID broadcasting, building construction, environment, usage issues, bandwidth and DSL provider availability. Senior engineers are qualified in using Air Magnet Survey software,. This, coupled with their extensive WiFi knowledge allows us to provide and in depth study of any issues on site and to suggest a course of aciton to be taken.

New installations: Surveys for new WiFi installations include the plotting of exact placement of APs to meet the coverage requried. The survey, also utilising the suite of Air Magnet tools, will provide details of hardware requirements, proposed DSL provider, bandwidth requirements and any integration requirements with existing WiFi. Outdoor mesh network surveys would take into account environment issues, availabilty of street furniture and local topography.

Solution Design

Synaptix will suggest a solution design that takes into consideration the environment in which the WiFi is going to be installed and the usage requirements alongside any budgetary constraints. All solution designs will be tested in-house prior to deployment and performance is monitored to ensure it meets with any given SLA. We have experience of desigining multi VLAN systems, multi site, low cost, single AP solutions, high security and or public access systems. Often working in conjunction with the client's internal technical team ensuring absolute compliance and customer satisfaction.

Installation

Installation procedures are rigorous and pass through our QA process. Engineers are trained in the correct installation procedure for each type of environment; installing in a hospital has different requirements to a busy pub. Method statements and risk assessments are produced where required and adhered to. Standard CAT5e LSOH is used, walls are fire bloacked where necessary. Testing procedures post installation include IP scan, netstumblers, speed tests and SSID check. The installation information and site intelligence is then uploaded into a report.

On large scale rollouts, our Technical Director undertakes installation at the test site to create the methodology for that particular installation. This is then passed to all engineers involved with the project. This ensures consistency and quality. Where volume of installations on a daily basis is required, Synaptix utilise their own real time reporting method from engineers in the field to provide you with accurate up to the minute information.

Maintenance

With a nationwide team of engineers (including Northern Ireland) Synaptix can offer a rapid response time. All our engineers are capable of performing diagnostic testing to a high level. First time fix is critical. Synaptix's maintenance process is constantly updated to reflect the new challenges facing WISPs.

Monitoring

Red Square is Synaptix's own 24/7 monitoring system. This allows for access to all devices in your estate with an alert system and automatic reboot facilities. Alternatively, we can utilise your own monitoring system 24/7 using our customer services team.
